CDP coating

CDP coating stands for Cathode Dip Painting and is one of the electrochemical painting processes. Cathode dip painting exploitschemical processes to deposit paint. The physical principle underlying electrophoretic dip painting is that materials of opposite charge attract one another andtherefore achieve very good adhesion.
Prior to the coating process, a DC voltage is applied to the workpiece, which is subsequently immersed in a paint bath with
additionally charged paint particles. The paint particles are attracted by the workpiece, deposit on it and form an even paint film over the entire surface. As a result of the electronic attraction, the paint bonds extremely strongly on the metal and can penetrate into corners, edges and recesses during the immersion process. Coating proceeds until the
coating has attained the predefined coating thickness. In order to achieve the maximum resistance of the coating, the paint film is subsequently wetted in the baking furnace and hardens at around 180°C.
